I was the first buyer of the Gary Murrel's modified DVDO Edge and it worked well for me for years and still is working with the exception of a few HDMI inputs.

I just purchased a HD621 off of eBay for $650. I have been waiting for years to get this product.

I am trying to connect the HD621 to my 568MM processor.

Now after following instructions I have read on the forum and PDFs the only component that will connect with audio and video is my Android TV Nvidia shield. When it is connected the read out on the display is "Dolby digital symbol, MHR Mus2 96X".

However, it only plays 2 channel when I go into to Kodi to watch a movie. My cable and Blu-ray player will show video but no audio. The display on these read "Dolby digital symbol Data 96k".

Can someone assist me please?

My apologies for not using the appropriate pleasantries, I am very frustrated because I know the first thing to do is to search the forum for the solution.
Unfortunately for me in the last 24 hours the things that I have gleaned from the forum has not produced a desirable outcome.
Therefore I am seriously asking for anyone who is willing to PLEASE help me with my problem and I am THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE

Have you configured the 568.2mm for use with the HD621? I had to turn off the handshake for encrypted audio when using my vanityhd board in my Oppo. Otherwise it didnt know to use music or theater modes.

So make sure the 568 is set for Meridian source. I forget what it is called in the 568 setup menu because it's been so long since I made the changes.

What config programmes do you have?

With the 568.2mm and HD621 combo you'll need the Legacy Config programme for the 568.2mm and the Standard config programme for the HD621.

Have you got a comms cable running between the HD621 and the 568.2mm?

Do you have a Null modem cable to connect between whatever Windows PC you're using and the two bits of M kit?

For each source going in to the HD621 you'll need to configure a source for the 568.2mm that uses the Multichannel input. (Can't remember the exact name they use in the legacy config programme).

The HD621 needs to be programmed so the same source button on the MSR+ corresponds to the correct input on the HD621 (ie HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3, etc).

Each source itself needs to be set to output PCM to the HD621 to maximize M's processing power.

His 568 should be setup correctly because his DVDO Edge was working.

What needs to be focused on is setting up the HD621.

It's a little tricky for 568 because there isn't much documentation for that on the WIKI.

But the HD621 is the same.

If I recall you have to install the New MConfig for HD621 and retain the old Config Program for 568.

Using the new MConfig you'll have to fake a G68 or something on the setup to mimic your 568.

Then when your done, you only program the HD621 with it.

Since I'm used to mostly setting up a G6x/HD621 the places where you explicitly tell it Multichannel or not, I'm not sure what of that goes to the HD621 vs the G6X.

But I suspect if you setup a HD621/G6x follow all the WIKI Advice and postings. And then program the HD621 and it will hopefully work.

If you are using a new or old Source you have to make sure it is DECODING DD/DTS in the Source. That's the only way the HD621 works. That is Source dependent and not all sources have that option !!

Oppo's and PS3's are noted for having it that option.

One other thing to watch out for is the automatic sensing that happens where the HD621 might incorrectly handshake thinking it's only 2 channel device. Usually that just works.

When it's working the 568 should say not show DD but some sort of Multichannel PCM format. I can't even remember what a G68 displays.

Remember that when hooked up the 568 (or G6x) and the HD621 are BOTH Switching their inputs to the Correct Source.

So when you Choose for example DVD, the HD621 chooses the HDMI input for the DVD and the 568 chooses the HD621 Multichannel input on the 568. This is why BOTH are normally programmed from MConfig.

Hope that helps. There are probably a few threads on 568 with HD621.

Read the WIKI page linked above in full to help you understand how it all works. The 568 is the same but can't be programmed in one shot from one MConfig.

Sorry if I'm forgetting but I think this is how it goes and is a bit messy for 568. But you should have 568 setup correctly and it should look the same on the display with the HD621 when working (assuming you had the DVDO setup correctly :))
