Okay, this happens to be every time.. re-wired my system and again got the rears and centre/sub wires mixed between my HD621 and my G68. I've got it fixed now by just pulling my cabinet out again and swapping the wires and rechecking but still.

Can someone remind me what the audio wiring is from the HD621 to a Meridian processor. Once we've got this, can we put this on the WiKi?

It's really un-intuitive to have the HD621 channels marked as "0/1", "2/3" and "4/5" plugging into D1, D3 and D5 (or D2, D4 and D6 I suppose) and whilst I always remember that 0/1 goes to D1, I always get the others wrong.

If it was on the wiki then I could look it up the next time it comes along.

cheers
David

PS. I did try and search for this as I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I couldn't seem to put together a good enough search string to find it.

I can tell you what the connections are on the HD621:

1 / 2 to L/R
3 / 4 to C/LFE
5 / 6 to SURR

Another place to look is your Meridian configuation program, that should show your connections as to what goes where
ie D1 D2 D3

Hi David, the Wiki is updateable by all members, so go for it.

Carl

Well, I checked the Meridian config program which showed where the connections went, but listed them as coming from LR, C/LFE and SL/SR or somesuch, not from 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. However, thanks for telling me, I'll have a go at updating the WiKi later.

Dave

PS. Surely I can't have been the only one to do this? wink

Glad it's not just me.

I've added a section to the Wiki in the HDMI solutions page, under the Setup Meridian Preamp with HD621 chapter.

I think I'm right, but I was guessing a little about the 861v4 as I've never owned one; someone might want to also add in the correct wiring for a 568.2mm as well.

Dave

David,

Many many thanks for 'stepping up to plate' and updating the Wiki.
Well done.

Hi Carl,

No worries, it was easy enough. I just hope it helps someone else in a similar situation smile
