The G-Series do suffer from PSU failures, mainly due to trapped heat... There's no ventilation in the CD or DVD players, and heat kills capacitors!
The drive mechanisms (DSL710/DSL720/DRL200) are also prone to failure, so you've had everything replaced that I would have expected to fail.
The PSU has likely failed again (due to heat), especially if the unit has been left powered on and in standby. The drives can be killed by leaving a disc inside and putting the unit in standby, as sometimes, the disc does not stop spinning, and the spindle motor burns out.
I would recommend leaving the unit switched off (at the power switch) when not in use if you want to extend the unit's life.
Cheers,
Steve
