Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to connect the internet connection from the MC200 directly to the ID41 of the 818?

Would that benefit sound quality wise as the router could introduce some noise?

Hi Rick,

No that would not work.

Even if you set both devices to have a fixed IP address (rather than using DHCP),
without a LAN connection there would be no way of controlling the MC200 via PC or tablet device.

Also even if possible there’s no AQ benefit.

The ID41 (like all Ethernet ports) is galvanic isolated, and good quality / well built Cat 5e / 6 are more than good enough.

Regards,
Carl
