I am struggling to enable MSR control for the Master speaker via iOS M Control app into the Bluetooth B-Link module. The online User Guide says that it is off by default and can be enabled in the Comms section of configuration, but I can’t find it. What’s offered in the DSP9 menu is either “IDENTIFICATION” which shows nothing or “DEBUG” commands which shows a “MSR SB” button to no effect I can discern. Within B-Link config, there is “ADVANCED COMMS” which allows me to set System or Product Address only.
So far, I can only play music over Bluetooth (which doesn’t sound all that great to me) not from my superb, third party AES source which does not have SpeakerLink controls but delivers beautiful sound through DSP5200SE (which have BNC Comms connections for control, unlike DSP9).
Also, I find that the sometimes unresponsive B-Link works for config with an iPhone but not my iPad, and that the reboot promised when you exit doesn’t reset the speaker, which remains Cyan on the front Badge.
Too bad I am spoiled by the user interfaces of the past, including speaker displays, where I have some idea of what’s happening instead of wandering in the dark for the past 12 hours. Please help me find my way…
******* UPDATE: Now I can enjoy tremendous SQ by enabling source instead of standby at power up and setting volume with B-Link before removing it and connecting AES/EBU. -Still can’t easily change volume level (without MSR functionality), but these speakers are amazing!
