Hi

I have recently purchased a pair of 7000s. Unfortunately the midrange driver blew on one of the speakers.

Can anybody help by providing details of a replacement driver or an alternative?

if my research is correct, according to your picture.
The Seas P17REX/P-ME has been replaced a while a go with a new model the P18RNX/P.
The P18RNX/P are still made and for sale from what I can see.

I do think it's important to get the 6 ohm version of the new variant.. ?

Your DSP7000 will be anywhere between 16 and 20 years old so I don't think you did anything wrong, that's just ageing electronics for you. There are some well documented issues with resistors in the 5000 series but no such inherent faults in the 6000,5500 and 7000 designs which effectively use the same electronics, its just luck. Regular recapping may solve some issues but by no means all.
