Hi, Bruce.

As I am enjoying my sound experience with the DSP7000, I decided to buy a pair of M6 with a Media Core 200 (MC200). I plan to use the Media Core 200 only as a Roon endpoint.

I would like to know if there is a way to access the speakers configuration via the MC200. I was only able to find info about setting the speakers using the AC200 or the MS200. I don't know if it is possible to set the speakers using RS232 codes.

I would like to enable at least the EBA function in the M6.

Also, I will need the ControlPC software and Meridian didn't supply it anymore, do you have any idea where I can download it?

You may be able to make those settings by the Meridian Control App. Unfortunately I do not currently have a MC200 on hand to verify and the user manual is sadly quite brief. You can however set EBA (and EBC) off on relevant Meridian products via RS232 and a terminal program.

Same can be done with most SpeakerLink devices. Once enabled on the M6 it should stay that way until you go back and disable the function.

Control:PC is already on the MC200 for download. It can be accessed from the MC200 web interface.

Ideally, if you can afford it, you need a Meridian 218 to enable EBA on M6’s.

A Meridian 218 can access the menu functions of the M6 using the Meridian Control app. An AC12 can be used to send the RS232 codes as well if you are handy with a PC and terminal programs.

The M6 is an impressive speaker for its size. It can put out amazing bass and is nicely balanced. The. M6, 3200,3300 and inwall speakers with no displays are best used with a Meridian speakerlink source or processor where these functions can be accessed from the menus of the Device or the Meridian Control
App. Once available separately a Meridian B link would also allow access to these settings via a Bluetooth connection.

Checkout SpeakerLink used as Digital Out (XLR or SPDIF) plus COMMS and RS232 which should help if you take the DIY approach.

Yes the ground will need connecting, not just TX and RX.
These are Pins 2, 3 and 5 in the 9 Pin D RS232

I tend to think of RJ45 pin 2 as the COMMS / RS232 ground and pin 5 the audio single ground.

I used pin 2 for the adaptor I built and it worked fine.

That said I wouldn't be surprised if pins 2 and 5 were internally connected

Firmware should be available from your local dealer or failing that I suggest you contact one of the HH friendly dealers that post on here.
I'll PM you their contact details, I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

MConfig program uses WinFUP.exe, the process for SpeakerLink DSP is the same, it still via RS232 it's just the connections are different but you've got that covered now.
