Hello all,

I bought these locally in February of this year, I had Steve on this forum re cap the boards during July time so they have plenty of life. They are running the original tweeters, I am normally keen to switch out with the older DSPs but I’ve never felt the need to with these.

I am the second owner. The previous owner bought from a London dealer. Either forgotten by or unawares to the previous owner, the right speaker had its back board replaced, so there are different serial numbers on the cabinet and the back board. To confirm both boards have been fully recapped.

Cabinets in very good condition, some small marks can be found if you go looking but these are very presentable. Grills nice and black. Displays bright.

I need to downsize the collection of speakers which is why these are up for sale and sentimentally I am more attached to my ancient 6000s!

These are quite transportable in a mid sized SUV. No boxes.

I have a pair of which I am very fond so I’ve just popped up to say that I think that these are a bargain at that price.

Had I just not bought a pair of 5200.2s, these would probably be making their way to me!

I too am very pleased with the 7k's and have no intention of changing them whatsoever.

However, one wonders the reason why they were so swiftly removed from the market. Given my experience selling High-End Digital Printing and Medical Scanning equipment, I am under the impression, that as a bridge product from the 6k to the 7.2k they were seriously over manufactured and not economically viable for Meridian to maintain selling.

Given that the 9 series is now using MDF may be an indication.

Just interested in other HH's thoughts.
