A most deserved Award.

Bob is quite a nice person, and to have endured the criticism he did over MQA was nearly criminal in my mind. He was so gracious on my plant tour of Meridian last year -- I had no expectation of meeting him, as he is a busy man. We talked for half an hour, and the he invited me to his private listening room for 90 minutes of listening to MQA on his special system, and talking about the tech, and the sounds and of course the music.

It's been a lifelong goal to get music to sound like it's in the room, and he has put the final piece in place, at least to my ears. My system has been Meridian/MQA ever since. My dabbling into HT, I am sure, is a result of the admiration I have for Bob.

I did once in 2013 - I got to meet him in London at some Leica Meridian thing and it was funny, I was proper star struck. I was less star-struck meeting Ronnie Wood outside an art gallery in Kensington!

We chatted for ages, I blubbered about how awesome he (and Allan) were, and we discussed if 8k's would be "too big" for the room I wanted or if 7200's were better.

Was hilarious - I was like a proper kid (age about 42) who'd met his idol.

Consider I studied Audio Engineering and worked in recording studios for years - the science was pretty important to me as well.

Still I made a complete plonker of myself - so careful what you wish for!

I would love to be able to thank him in person for the hours of joy his passion have brought about in my life alone. Maybe one day...

This guy has given me so much pleasure throughout my life.
