FOC: 562V and 598

I've got these two pieces that have been gathering dust for quite some time (like, a dozen years, probably more).
Just the units. No boxes, cables, remotes, manuals, or anything.
562V: As far as I can recall, it worked perfectly when I mothballed it.
598: I am fairly certain it was modded with the SDI-out. Before it was decommissioned, I seem to remember it had the flaky open/close problem many (most? all?) 598s had back then.
Happy to give them to a fellow Hitchhiker - as long as you come pick 'em up.
LMK!

Meridian Control menu bar app (and some hidden Ellipse treasures)
RBM
Been poking around inside my Ellipse for a bit, trying to create an app that avoids the slowness of the Meridian Control iOS app. So far (running on macOS, will port to iOS later): ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/CR9gjZy4/Screenshot-2026-07-24-at-10-24-33-PM.png) From top to bottom: - Album Art (+background fade in color palette) - Progress bar with scrubber (contrasting color from artwork palette) - Streaming source + audio format - Metadata + track controls - Volume slider - Volume presets (configurable in settings, collapsible) - Source selection - EQ settings (surprising find: loudness + full equalizer, collapsible) - Display brightness - Power/Standby The Meridian specific DSP presets (FREE-Q, BASS & SPACE, IMAGE ELEVATION) are elusive as of yet. But yes – it's lighting fast. Not sure if this will work for 210/218 as well – it is talking to the StreamUnlimited interface (and a little bit of Meridian IP control).

Re: FS: Meridian Remotes & Accessories

Following sales my updated remaining items available:
2 x Meridian MSR+ Black Remotes all boxed in excellent condition
1 x Meridian 800 Series 30mm rear blanking plate
4 x 35MM diameter black round feet, I think they are for mounting DSP5500s on a wood or concrete floor
4 x 75mm diameter silver round feet with rubber ring surrounds for DSP8000 speakers
I'm happy to email pictures of all items to HH enquirers
In addition I have the following Meridian related items (all new and unused):
1 x 1M StarTech.com Serial Cable, for connecting to the Keyspan adapter 3 x 2M StarTech.com Serial Cable, for connecting to the Keyspan adapter
I leave these connected to each of my Meridian processors etc so that it is easy to connect up the Keyspan adapter. I bought these items for another system that didn't proceed hence they are now spare.
These unsold items are also on eBay.
All enquiries welcome.

Horrific! Beaten to death by 21 hammer blows to the head by the assailant, who has subsequently been formally charged with her murder and remanded in custody at The Old Bailey.

Re: Occasional Flashing Light

Hi Ian,
It's probably the digital 'clipping' light (which should be yellow).
This can occur when the recording engineer has exceeded 0dB within the digital domain.
If it only happens on certain tracks, then it's probably nothing to worry about.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: INFO: Meridian 210 on Limited Special Offer

Speculation is allowed here I hope.
Will there be a new streamer with integrated Tidal and Qobuz?
A 818v4 with a ID42 RAAT card for the pure audio enthusiasts and a separate ID43 that does all other streaming duties?
Control through an app like the 218? New room correction?
I think it would be nice Meridian would keep the 800 platform alive and just adds modern streaming to it. Hope is a feeling of desire and confident expectation that something good will happen. I can’t see them keeping the 800 design, at least physically. Aside from the fact it’s dated, the card-based architecture only makes sense with multichannel, and we know that, sadly, Meridian won’t be doing that any more. I would guess a completely redesigned endpoint both aesthetically and technically. I do wonder, now that they won’t be releasing another surround processor, whether they will consider using some of their proprietary tech, such as Trifield, MRC and possibly sub management, in their flagship stereo endpoint. I really do hope, if it’s something along these lines, that they get a decent designer in, someone worthy of Allen Boothroyd’s legacy. The last few products look like they were designed by a student doing work experience.

When I still had my DSP7200SE and was experimenting with a DSW, Rick gave me a good advice; just go 8K. I wasn't ready at the time. The 7200's + DSW where great, but he was right all along. 8K was what I was looking for.
