Can you include an "unmodded" BDP-83 in your powerbuy?

A bunch of folks have an Edge/Clux/HD621/Octava and don't need the 3xSPDIF mod but may be very interested in the player for a good powerbuy price.

I would be interested in George's request, if it could be extended North of the border.

I am interested in this modified player. What exactly is HD-SDI, and do I need it?

I use an M568.2MM with a DVDO VP50 and the M HD621, and have no plans to upgrade to a G68/861.

I will however need region free. When can you deliver?

HD-SDI is a super high quality professional signal that is tapped directly off of the decoder inside the player, this delivers the purest video signal available, free from of any conversions, HDMI output, bit errors and even HDCP protection

you do need a scaler for it though, the VP50pro has dual HD-SDI inputs as does the Crystalio 3800pro and there are HD-SDI to HDMI converters to fed any scaler

that seems to be around 4 for the SPDIF modified Oppo, keep the interest coming I know Tommy from Sweden wanted one as well, he was the the original member to contact me and get me started on the forums here)

region free will be available, the mod is still being completed

I am ready to go on everything guys, I am just waiting on stock to be available from Oppo, as soon as I can get players I will be offering this stuff

however, any of you lucky enough to have been chosen on the early adopter public beta we can mod your units right now, this is how our early customer was chosen, he sent in a EAP to us

you guys are going to love this thing, it even decodes and plays back DTS/Dolby Digital tracks from SD DVD perfectly and outputs as PCM via the mod, so you can have the Meridians do zero internal decoding

DVD
HDCD
CD
any type of hi rez media files
Blu-Ray(internal decoding of ever format nameable)
SACD
DVD-Audio

all decoded internally and output from the SPDIF mod, no EDID stuff to deal with, no HDMI output connection needed

thanks

Yes, I'm definitely interested in a modified Oppo, I don't have a good SACD player and I have no Blu-ray player at all. I first thought about a modded Edge + an unmodded European Oppo, but that would have some drawbacks. One about not being able to detect aspect ratio on component input - I now have a VP30 with ABT102 and while it can't do that either it has RS-232 in. I'm working on controlling that from the satellite box...

The main problem with the "modified Oppo" solution is that it would be enough with an European Oppo, not a region-free. But not a US Region player.

It seems Oppo are grinding out the "last bugs" - not the last existing bugs (that's an oxymoron), but the last bugs needed to remove so it can be sold to the general public.

My scaler is not the Pro, only the base model VP50, so it seems I would not need the HD-SDI mod.

I have found with my Sony VPL-VW100 that my scaler is essential, otherwise I cannot see any detail.

Count me in though for the USD999 model.

I only have HDMI into the HD621 and obviously cannot use the SPDIF with the 568.2MM.

Hi there,
I'd be interested in the cost of a 'fully loaded' machine, SPDIF, Region free with HD-SDI.

598DP SDI, 568.25MM, Crystalio II 3800, 435 XDE (soon to be 50pf20?), NVA A80 x 8, AE2's, AE2 Pro, AE1's.
