Are we sure about that. If you look at the current datasheet for 5200 is clearly mentions upsampling several times. Where as the 3100 has no mention at all.

I know you we can't always trust the specs but I'm curious how you know it has
not being a 3100 owner I am not 100% sure but I did refer to the 2009 q&a which stated that all current speakers with the exception of the 420's upsampled.

All current loudspeaker models (with the exception of the DSP420) are capable of 1x - 2x upsampling.
