A mate+family of mine moved a wile ago I heped them out both ends the company left his new house full up with a big mess funiture/boxes all over the place then they buggered off real quickly if Id not have helped organise it over a whole weekend it'd have taken them weeks to get sorted as he's a bit disabled. The way some of the men chuck stuff about bugger letting them deal with topend hifi sooner incour travel costs or beers for a mate to help than removals imagine "clarence" type characters ! (clarence was a half blind removal man played by Ronny Barker V funny ).

Ian,
Thanks to REUBEN I have a pair of 5500 boxes if you require a lend of them (5500's not unboxed yet but soon will be). Let me know if I can help.
I agree with the others, never let your kit be handled by a removal firm. If you have to buy new boxes and ferry them yourself then that is what I would do(only way to know it will be done correctly).
Keith.

Two boxes (for a L/R pair) cost GBP 180 purchased from Meridian (I was quoted that price assuming it was for one box, but apparently not). The foam supports are really dense and really heavy and so is the cardboard.

Thanks for the heads up on the price. Does that include shipping?
I am thinking about purchasing for my 5200hc as its likely to be stored or sold on after my move. Once the 5200's are in though, they will be staying (a 5200 is for life not just for Christmas) so it would actually be beneficial to me not to have to store some large boxes - not very useful loft space I suspect in new property.
Based on peoples comments about removal companies, I thinking about moving the speakers myself, storing them for a few days en-route to let the dust settle.
Meridian owner since 1992 Prime & PSU, Focal Elear headphones, Roon (ROCK 8Gi5 NUC), Explorer 1 & 2, F80. 200/203, various Sonos (via Roon).

I would suppose that would include shipping as I would expect the dealer to add shipping costs and quote the sum, but since I didn't pay for the boxes in the end, I can't say with certainty.
One difficulty might be that you might have to go through a dealer and what I understand is Sounds Expensive no longer are.
But if you are thinking of selling, I would expect it would be better to do that sooner, rather than later - at least once the weather gets colder - and you might not need the box if the buyer is willing to collect.
