In the UK people do favours for people expecting nothing financial in return, although it is polite to either offer to return the favour somehow, or show gratitude in some other, often liquid, form.
I kind of hoped that use of a few boxes for a couple of days would have fallen into this category. Yeah we always charge for favors here in the USA.
