As requested by Bob/Richard at CES, this is a poll for potential additions to the MSR+ key range. Here is what is supplied with the MSR+:

Aux
Cable
CD
Disc
DVD
DVD-R
Game
Lib
LD
LP
Movie
Music
PVR
Radio
Sat
Tape
TV
Tuner
VCR1
VCR2
*Blank*
*Blank*
*Blank*
*Blank*

Which keys would you be happy to see the back of and which keys would you like to see, assuming a maximum of five characters on a key?

Also, what should be the moniker for Blu-Ray? Blu? B-Ray? B-R? BR? BRD? BluRy? etc.

I would like "B-Ray" (I think!) and SACD. I'm currently using "Lib" for my Squeezebox; I wonder if there is something better for audio clients which is still generic enough? I would also like more than four blanks!

BD (for Bluray)

If Bluray really does need it's own symbol, I think BD would be my choice but I feel that additions to the generic options such as Game-1, Disc-2 would have the better long term future. The only deviceS not logically handled are a personal music player such as iPod and maybe a net based device that may not logically fit under Lib

BD and PC definitely . Maybe ' Mus(ic) ' for stored collection ??

I'm sure there will be a ' Sooloos ' button along shortly wink

Buttons I hate : LP , VCR1 and VCR2

Definitely BD for Bluray as it is the accepted abreviation industry-wide. A note for the benefit of "Meridialien" and "gianni"- LP=Phono. I'd also like to see Xbox, PS3, and Wii keys as they are the current dominant consoles and likely to be so for the forseeable future. I'm definitely not the only gamer addict enjoying my shoot-em-ups via a Meridian rig out there...

Happy Trails!

Why Phono if we already have LP?

I also vote for BD and PC. In my wildest dreams I would also like iTunes or, if limited to five characters, iTune.

With my main system located in the family room for daily use, I have a Tivo, mini Mac, PC, PS3, Wii, Fox (Australian equivalent of Sky) and Sonos as sources in my system. Whilst generic buttons can suffice when appropriate/available, for ease of use by the wife and kids, specific remote buttons would be welcomed.

Therefore my vote would be for;

Tivo
Mac
PC
PS3
Wii
Fox
Sonos

Guess a Sooloos button wouldn't go astray too - wishful thinking !

Some great suggestions above, but I'd also still like an HDDVD button smile

Hoepfully the use of trademarks liks Sonos/Tivo/PS3 wouldn't be an issue, but I could see that being somewhere Meridian don't want to go.

Frank, I was thinking Phono = Phono Stage for those who choose off-board devices while LP would be for those with on-board stages.

Meridialien, I have three record players and I am sure I am not the only one. At least I didn't suggest 78rpm!
