Best set (and easiest to use) of brightness/contrast setting patterns I've seen yet - congrats. CUE patterns are also superb. And the motion tests are fantastic. Navigation is great and I like the help files available. Lack of greyscale/colour fields/windows had me scratching my head though?
One thing I *don't* like is the speeded up demo material... very jarring...
A superb disc that raises the bar on test discs.
Cheers,
Mark

Thank you for the feedback Mark. Don also felt the speedup was jarring in the montage. I thought it worked well in one scene. We went back and fourth on the gray scale patterns. For this disc we only wanted to include stuff that could be adjusted without special equipment. When we do a follow-on disc, it will have a lot of windows and fields. Trying to decide if we we want to offer every level. We have to solve the navigatio part first. We will probably wait unti a 3D standard is added to Blu-ray, so we can include new tests. We are still trying to find blue gels that work across multiple displays.

Hi David,
For now it is for sale through the Oppo store on Amazon, which means it will ship from the US. I shipped out several on Friday to reviewers in London and I paid around $5 US for shipping airmail.
AV Science is also selling the disc. You can PM or email Alan at the AVS Forum and he see how much he will charge for shipping.
Once reviews are published we will look into Amazon vs. a store on Amazon.

Stacey,
I bought your disc and received it about a week ago, but only got a chance to try it out yesterday for the first time. I am in complete agreement with the review you posted, the disc was very easy, very intuitive. Great job!
It also helped me learn a lot more about my PS3 and Pio 60" plasma. Somehow I'd convinced myself that the PS3 was deinterlacing everything and always outputting 1080p, so hadn't really done anything with the deinterlacer settings on the plasma. Ooops. Also, the overscan test image made me realize and understand the differences between "Full" and "Dot-by-Dot". Oops, again.
Thanks!
Dan
ps - of course, having used this disc is now making me consider maybe changing out the PS3 and using something else for BR/DVD playback and possibly looking at an external processor, such as the DVDO Edge. So... "thanks"... :-)

Hi Stacey,
I would like to join the folks who praise the benchmark BR. I am using it for a week now and it is very intuitive. The explanations are excellent. This opens a whole new world to amateur AV enthusiasts like myself being able to check, understand and remedy some of the problems that are identified with this disc. Great job!
After I have gone through all the video/picture patterns and clips it is quite clear that some of my settings should be changed to improve the picture on the screen. I wonder whether there are other aspects of the analysis (such as specific de-interlacing modes) that I cannot control with the projector/scaler (Fujitsu) or the player (SP3). So the commentary section of the disc would be even more helpful if it would let the user know which problems can be addressed for most devices and which one has to live with until one changes the equipment. So, e.g., my scaler does not do a good job with de-interlacing the 2.2.2.4 mode, but does excellently with the 2.3.2.3 mode. Is there anything I can do to fix those problems? I am even wondering whether you/your company could give specific instructions for what setting should be modified once a user goes through the analysis with the disc and a specific set of display and player and emails you the results in a predetermined format/worksheet.Such a service would, of cause, cost the user a certain fee.
What do you think?

shipping cost to the UK seems reasonable. 8.50 for a BRD? Seems steep to me.
