Been looking for a 568.2 for a while and see one has popped up on flea bay - doesn't look as if it will sell for peanuts - anything I should look out for ?
or indeed any one got one of these they want to sell - think the last one went for 750 on here

Hi Ian
Welcome to the forum. Is it a 568.2 or 568.2mm you are looking for? The latter is more expensive as it has the MM connection and can be used with the new HD621 for Bluray use. The non MM version cannot.
They are extremely reliable, and there's nothing really to watch out for. Always nice to get a nice clean non-scuffed model; there are no moving parts and nothing to wear out really!
Cheers
George

Thanks for that George, MM isn't essential but desirable, but provenance is important to me - especially on eBay - I know 90+% are genuine but ...... so far my questions have been answered quickly but some what vaguely so I am leaning towards leaving this one alone but thought I the expert opinion on here would be of use

Should one go for peanuts? if it does i doubt it will have the provenance you crave or indeed any one got one of these they want to sell - think the last one went for 750 on here Sounds like AVForums speak thankfully it is nothing like them on hereThanks for that George, MM isn't essential but desirable, but provenance is important to me - especially on eBay - I know 90+% are genuine but ...... so far my questions have been answered quickly but some what vaguely so I am leaning towards leaving this one alone but thought I the expert opinion on here would be of use Ian, The one on eBay: You have had your answers responded to quickly BUT The seller has not made public any of the answers! to yours, or anyone elses? I asked one simple question and have had NO REPLY! My question as his feedback score is 2, was "Is cash on collection OK?" I had no response, asked again if collection was possible, still no response. It does not mean it is not "genuine" however each potential buyer has to decide for themselves. Good luck in you search, I have recently purchased a 568.2mm from here and I am over the moon with it (thanks George) I have to say you will need a big bag of nuts for payment mind, and they will probably need to be Cashews, not peanuts Possibly also worth remembering, is although you will pay more for am "mm" your purchase price against recoup later if needed will probably be better protected. Cheers and good luck.

Apologies to all if my language has been out of keeping with forum etiquette.
Deep down I was leaning to the view that the current eBay offer was not the way to go and Mr Bluerays experience has been most helpful in re-inforcing my decison.
I have cancelled my planned snip.
I would be most grateful if members could keep me in mind should they be upgrading a 568.2 in the near future.
Many thanks
Ian

Perhaps you might like to talk to Mothership. If their processor upgrade deal is a success I'm sure they'll know where to find several 568.2s, both mm and vanilla...
dpstjp
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I think the Mothership is making every effort to beam us directly to the colonies these days...I suspect that any direct enquiry will be answered with "here's your nearest Premier Dealer".
Cheers
