you will notice in these pics that I have decided to use 4 of the analog audio outputs for the 4x SPDIF mod, this will be done on the digital transport ed. units with 4x SPDIF mod unless specifically requested otherwise, the reason is that on these units the analog audio section is disabled anyway, so it is put to good use

this is preferred in my opinion for a few reasons, one of them being that it means no holes are drilled in the back panel, this is a cleaner approach

however again should someone not want this, just let me know and the add-on RCAs will be used, the amount of work is the same either way

thanks

Hi Gary

Can you please provide an update on the status of the region free mod. The shipping date of this has slipped several times.

I am looking for confirmation that it will happen and that there are no unresolved technical issues.

Thanks

Hi Gary,

how about the following:
-Region Free (DVD+Blu)
-M digital Ed. 4x SPDIF
-HD-SDI version

Also a question, is the traditional DVD hack still applicable to the BDP-83?

When will this be available and at what price?

Thanks

Frederick

Fred, all that will be available soon, and can all be done on a player at once, no problem, the powerbuy order link in my signature will be updated as soon as region free and HD-SDI are available, the later is coming next week and region free about 2 or 3 weeks out

the Oppo has no traditional region free capability, that is a thing of the past, so the mod is needed for BD as well as DVD

thanks

Why there is such a difference in price between 110v and 240v version?

Hi

I am interested if FLAC playback will be avaliable through USB

Regards Simon

Don't you just hate to buy something described as mint condition and you find what they actually meant was polo mint (with holes).

I think you are looking at the shipping cost added into the fold for overseas, I doubt any US person wants 240v, so 240v is labeled overseas

if power concern is a issue please send me a email when ordering to confirm what you want, some rare countries like Iraq use 120v, some people in europe use 240v to 120v transformer setups for all the gear to run off of and want 120v, just let me know and it will be wired the way you like

thanks
