Does the Oppo play multi-channel files from USB HDD/stick? If so, which formats?

Dear Custom,

I am interested in your offer.

Q: I currently used a Meridian 596 as it outputs stereo 9624 via the SPDIF from DVDs.

I make extensive use of this.

Will your Oppo be able to replicate this?

Thx,

M

Right now that isn't so versatile, but there are hopes for MLP and FLAC files.

Since there's now no "stress" from Oppo Priority Order Deadline I'll wait a while for "release date" and price for the region-free mod. It's not mandatory since I'm gonna use the Oppo primarily for BD concerts, DVD-A and SACD - but anyway...

Can anyone think of a reason why I shouldn't replace my Oppo 980 and (Region A) PS3 with the stock BDP-83?

Can the Oppo output bitstream (from DVD) at the same time as audio over HDMI?

Because you'll miss your fix of Little Big Planet and Guitar Hero.

I've only got one game and it's "none of the above".

Seriously? Any reason not to?

I would need the region free mod as most of my DVDs are Region 2.

I'd feed the output to my Radiance. I would not use source direct because I want to use 1080i60 for Blu-Ray to minimize HDMI handshaking (I imagine that source direct will change the output frequently at the beginning of movies). I'd go for the RS232 option for more direct control. Box count would lower by one.

This is not an urgent upgrade.

you are correct on source direct, the unit will switch back and forth between modes, with the Radiance and the Oppo set to 4:4:4 36bit 1080i I venture to say you will like the image, ALO!!

thanks

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have decided to install and include a HDMI lock on every unit that goes out the door, included in the cost of the unit

thanks
