My 800 is behind the screen and so the 5000 Center is the receiver for the remote. I have now the problem that, play, stop, etc. is working, but in the DVD-Menue like up, down, enter is not in funktion. I can only change in this mode, treble, bass, etc.
Does the separed remotereceiver help in this configuration?

Thanks very much for answers.

Short answer - Yes Remote receiver 512 can help, but probably not with the Menu commands

Long answer - You need to set up your processor with "800 DVD present" and make sure that the processor is "Controller" and that 800 and DSP5000C is "Not Controller"

Are you using both an 800 and a SSP? (like 861 or 568)

If so, be sure to select the "800 DVD Present" or "Meridian DVD Present" in the SSP setup, like Geirh suggested.

You will also need to hold down the function key to use the arrows for DVD playback. (if you selected the "... DVD Present" option.

If you have 861, 800, and DSP speakers, you will also need the 512/212 if the 861/800 are not in IR range.

Thanks for answers

Yes i'm using both, 800/861. The 800 is present in the setup.

Geirth - You said, -not in the menu commands That means no changing language during the film?

I know that, with the funktion key. But it's always only changing the soundmode.
I think the 5000 C can't transfer this information to the 800.

Am i right? In the new configuration with 512, is the 861 controller (with remote receiver) and the rest not controller or automatic. (What does automatic exactly mean?)

Thanks very much for your help.

Proton,

my point was that a 512 will help you send commands to units hidden by the screen or out of IR range.

If 861 is controller and 800/DSP5000 are not controller MSR menu keys is used for navigation of DVD (800) menues. Navigation of 861 menues can be done with "Function"+menu key.

Is your 861 hidden by the screen as well? This might explain the problem.

Automatic means that the unit will be set to controller or not controller when you press "Clear" in standby. The result is shown in the display. NOTE 861 must be controller.

You should probably set 800 to "NOT Controller" (not automatic) in the setup program. My 800/861 have a problem with "Automatic" configuration. I end up with both 800 and 861 as controller. This is not a good idea. I have to press "Clear" 4-5 times before I get 861 "Controller" and 800 "not controller"

Geir.

Thanks Geirh

Yes, also the 861 is behind the screen.

At the moment the 5000 C is the controller and 800/861 not controller. In this mode i can stop, start, etc. but no menu configuration.

With 512 is the 861 controller and the rest not controller and so i can also handle the DVD-menue.

Am i right?

Sorry but my english is not perfect.

Proton,
861 must be set as controller in your setup.

This can be done automatically by pressing "Clear" on the remote with the system in Standby. Note all units must "see" the remote when you do this.

The 861 Display should show "Controller" and 800/DSP5000C should show "Not con".
If you do not get this correct repeat pressing "Clear" until ok.

If you can not get 861 to be (the only) controller you can do this manually using the Meridian setup program. Set 800 to "Not con." You can keep 861/Dsp5000C as automatic.
