EDIT: What does the Oppo send over HDMI (and therefore the tapped outputs) if it is connected to a display device which does not have multi-channel audio EDID (most of them)?

Also, the 96kHz limiter (p55 in the manual: http://www.oppodigital.com/Download/BDP83/BDP-83_English_Manual.pdf) only applies to the regular SPDIF output.


Virus, I think the Oppo ignores the audio EDID stuff, not certain of that

the SPDIF mod output cannot be limited, it is a pure tap into the signals that go to the analog section, the limiter is only for optical/coaxial and HDMI

the SPDIF mod tapped outputs have nothing to do with any settings or if HDMI is used etc., it is separate from all of that
