Cheers,
Mark Mark, appreciate the information. Stacey do you know whether Panasonic is planning a firmware release to address this issue? Stacey or others who have a Panansinic BD60, HD621 and G68/861 combination...any ideas as to how best to solve this colour space issue? Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. Contact Meridian? I've forwarded details of all problems I've seen. Hopefully, and assuming it's a Meridian problem, firmware updates will fix. Mark

Mark I have done that and the response to date has been completely underwhelming...appears to have fallen into a big black hole..

Anyone know what the best performance machine /buck out here there at the moment for the old Meridian?
818.3 , DSP8000SE, MacPro (the little bin), Virgin box, Sony XR77A80K, Missing Link Reference HCX cables, Townshend speaker support...

I use a Sony 550. 268 inc. multi-region DVD. Includes 7.1 analogue outputs (which the 350 doesn't) and decodes all hi-rez formats.
It is excellent on Bluray, not as good as a 596 on DVD-V (seems slightly grainy) and surprisingly good on CD. And it loads quickly. Build quality is not battleship but at that price it is a disposable commodity in the context of a full Meridian system should something better come along.

I think a relevant question is if you will upgrade to a HD621 or other device for multichannel lossless digital.
If not then it could be any player out there with a pricetag you think is reasonable. If you choose between the regular suspects I don't think you could go entirely wrong.
If you have plans for HD621 or alternatives then a player that can decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master HD and output LPCM over HDMI is what you want.
Sony 550 Panasonic BD 55 HDI Dune BD Prime Oppo BD 83 etc.
DSP8000SE, DSP7200SEHC, DSP5200SE sides, DSP7200SE rears, 861v8, 210, Sim2 Ultranero 4, Stewart Cinecurve 2.35:1, XEIT CM-5E Anamorphic lens, Dune HD Duo Cinema 8K and Wireworld Platinum 48G HDMI -> UHD722 -> Shunyata Omega Ethernet. Shunyata/Furutech power-cables/filters. SR Master Fuse@861v8. Uptone Etherregen with 10MHz OCXO clock.

definitely going the 568 into HD621 route reluctant to spend a shed load of money on the source itself since Meridian aren't investing in the players at present be interesting where this will go personally i think the near future will be streaming.....

Oppo BD 83 seems like a good choice but still sounds like it's a little rough around the edges (on it's bonus features like DVDA and SACD) at the moment based on opinions.

Or you could go for a Sony PS3, not the very best Bluray I know but it's a good machine and you get a games console to boot.
