Just watched another movie and again the same reaction - surrounds sound significantly more coherent creating a more immersive soundstage - higher frequencies audible in all channels adding to clarity - more power in the bass.

I am certainly enjoying lossless!

Cheers,

Mark

Had to hard reset my HD621 last night - it was refusing to pass signals through it... only solution was to power off and restart...

Are you saying that HD621 is not passing through the video? i.e. Same color space in and out? If so, that is a bad form. I will try various scenarios when mine arrives.

You may need an HDMI distribution amp to split the HDMI before the HD621. The Radiient is one of the best DAs available. Jano, the founder of Radiient, wrote the HDMI spec. http://www.radiient.com/Radiient-Repeat-6-HDMI-Distributor_3 here it is at Overstock: http://www.overstock.com/Electronic...-6-HDMI-Distributor/3684512/product.html

We are working on an article now that will explain how to figure out the best color space to use. Our findings our interesting, I expect it to open a few eyes. EDIDs are not reliable. Every device should allow you to chose the color space you want.

I have no reason to think it's NOT passing through the video. Except that sometimes the handshakes fail and it forces the source to output one colour space but communicates the wrong information to the receiver and the displayed colours are fubar. Meridian are aware of my reports on this.

The issue I reported above is that the box locked up completely after having been powered on since I installed it a month ago. Only power off reset got it working again.

Cheers,

Mark

Apologies for being obtuse this morning but can someone please explain to me how this "Last valid" setting -- for both audio and video -- works as I am trying to map out how best to configure and position the HD621 in my system...

Much thanks in advance...

"Last valid" means that when you switch to the source, the audio and/or video input is not changed. What was previously active is used.
