Sure. Read the rules.
Not being able to lay my hands on a copy, am I right in thinking that the A+ player/transport section is reserved for devices which can playback native hi-res audio discs?

I was under the impression that the 808.2 can still read 96/24 LPCM stereo from DVD-V (which - of course - would probably qualify as native hi-res audio ...).

Am I wrong ?

VK - and others - I subscribe to the online digital version of Stereophile.

You can get a single issue download of April 2009 Stereophile from:

http://www.zinio.com/gncoffer?issn=0585-2544&of=ZH01&ns=usa

Costs $6.99 $USD - note you can change country at the top of that page.

You need to download their Zino Reader to read the magazine. The reader works fine.

Also the 808.2 does not read / play DVD-A high res. Unlike the 808.1 it's "only" a CD player.

Enjoy

Mebbe. JA's call, of course. OTOH, with the exception of Classic Records reissues, how many such music discs are there?
