After a couple of years of waiting for Meridian to deliver its promised EQ solution I've given up waiting and completely abandoned my earlier plans to have an all Meridian theater. I opted instead for the Tact route and I've been enjoying room correction for 5 months so far.
If you really want to get Meridian's attention and force them to favourably respond to such an obviously universal demand by loyal and would-be loyal customers then maybe its time to let your wallet do the talking for change.

In reading the posts, it seems that those of you with the TacT RCS are using it between the processor and your front left and right speakers. Is there some reason you can't run all your sources into a 562, put the TacT between the 562 and the 565/568, and then calibrate the TacT with the 565/568 in Direct mode. Would the correction not then carry over to the various derived music and cinema modes?

I've been absent for the past 6 months, however, I'm back now... In light of a recent thread on room correction, let's bring this to the front again. Can anyone say ...sloooooow progress?

Instead of doing room correction system, you should focus more on a tone control system, If you have great music with a very poor recording, your great room correction system will not do you any good, that's why I've a Tone Control system in my Hifi.

i'm a bit confused. "room correction" is very different than "music correction".
room correction will adjust ALL audio, uniformly, coming out of the system to deal with reverberations, reflections, absorptions, and whatnot in your room. any room problem will uniformly affect 50Hz or 15KHz regardless of whether it's a crappy recording, 7.1, 2 channel LP, whatever.
music correction is great in that you can fix recordings that need it, but it's a wholly separate issue here.
or am i confused?
doody.

Room Correction fixes problems associtaed with the acoustics of the room. Room correction is highly individual and will adjust/elimate acoustical problems for the listening room. As Mr Doody correctly states: "room correction" is very different than "music correction" How you wish to personalize a bad recording or adjust a recording to your individual liking has nothing to do with room correction. I've been working on my new house non-stop and FINALLY have a NEW ISP... CABLE MODEM! Wow, I love it. Now I can start participating on the A/V forums regularly again! I've had to go thru a lot of hurdles in the past 8 months or so... Chris

by the way I absolutely agree it is a very different. Room EQ and Tone Control have nothing to do with each other, ultimately room correction comes first to ensure a theorically sound room and a tone control system comes second for the music. But we all have to remember that music is the ultimate goal, if the recording is badly balanced, no room correction will help. TaCT does the job apparently in digital form before the DAC (I think it is the ideal solution). I've got tone control and it is of great help to clear out the mud of some recordings or to put the balance straight of some. Jamiroquai is a great example of recording with no high frequencies, only 120-5k. on a different cateogry, Diana Krall as well is very badly done even with an emmy award for sound engineering....
