I just ordered a HD621 from the M dealer in Seattle. He said there are approx. 300 orders in the hopper for U.S. buyers and expects order fulfillmentto begin in late March or early April. Anyone heard anything different?

Thanks in advance.

" We have to have 621s to have any impressions. "

Initial impression is that its very transparent , unlocking that final degree of resolution and clarity from my players ( Toshiba HD-XE1 and Panasonic DMP-BD50 ). So far , operation - wise , its seamless when configured .

I really think of it as a new 800 card in a bigger box than usual wink

Sound-wise , steering is that much more sharp and those slight/centre rear details that you may have missed ( eg. John Mc Lean's off-camera burp in Die Hard 3 ) ar much more integrated .

With HD and BD , pickup of whether to load Music or Movie 6 presets has been spot on for me with everything I've played ( eg.John Mayer 'Where the light is ' and ' Let the Right One in ' on BD ).

The only bummer ( not the HD621's fault ) is SkyHD's HDMI lacking of 5.1 output . I did e-mail Sky a few weeks ago and I got an automated response that they would
reply shortly ....but they haven't ( slight M similarity wink ? )

Amadeus sounds awesome .

I predict most will be very happy with it in use ,

In order to get the flexibity I need, I've had to put an Octava 5x2 splitter unit in front the of my HD621 for some of my sources. One of the mirrored outputs goes to my TV and other to the HD621 for the sound (and projector when used).

I was expecting a load of HDCP issues - but nothing - it all works perfectly - amazing!

No but I don't see why it shouldn't work. You must have a lot sources to need that configuration smile

Cliff

I hope I share your luck . I'm hoping to rackmount my equipment soon and am going to have to trust that using HDMI/Cat6 conversion for cabling doesn't present any handshaking/sparkly problems .

I considered straight HDMI cable but at the length required it's easy stupid money or no picture quality guarantee . I like the look of the Wireworld Starlight 5.2 but it is expensive and would need to tolerate some bends along the way .

I will have to run Cat 6 for some of my speakers anyway so here's hoping.

Hello,

I could do with some help please. How do I identify which channels are assigned to which Smartlink RCA jack on the HD621? Is it 1/2 "Front L/R" 3/4 "SUB/CENTRE" 5/6 "SIDE L/R" etc?

Thanks for your help

Thomas

Has anyone used the HD621 with the 121 without any problem?

Cheers, Stephen.

My understanding is:
1/2 "Front L/R"
3/4 "SUB/CENTRE"
5/6 "REAR L/R"
7/8 "SIDE L/R"

Hi Thomas

The 5.1 setup is 1/2 "Front L/R" 3/4 "Sub/Centre" 5/6 "Surround" in to Smartlink.
