Sorry, I didn't realize Meridian's didn't have OSDs anymore.

From a hardware point of view it would be pretty easy to build a gizmo to mirror the front panel display.

I use a MC-12HD which has an OSD. I power the 12v LCD display with the Lexicon's trigger (they source 1/2 an amp) so I can turn it on/off by turning the Lexicon trigger on/off. I mainly use that when I don't have the projector on.

When the projector is on I use the Front Panel to On Screen Display function of my Universal Translator with the Lumagens. That reads the Front Panel display of the Lexicon then sends a command to the Lumagen to put that up on screen. No video has to go through the Lexicon to still get the Lexicon OSD.

That works for Meridians as well but you have to have a Lumagen too.

I would echo the sentiment for a better remote. I'm not in the universal remote camp - frankly I think they are either crap or way too expensive. I've tried a bunch of them but always end up coming back to the MSR+, despite its limitations.

I'd love to see a remote that can display processor volume, input and DSP - my 861 is in a rack behind my speakers so seeing it requires actually leaving the couch - outrageous!

Shawn's UT works very nicely with video (i.e. projector on) but not so convenient for just audio.

I'd also like to see a few more source buttons - SACD, Bluray, etc. to replace the bits of tape on my MSR+

errrrrrr...offer bi-annual 1/2 off sales?? (albeit with a motive of course...offer reduction on electronics, which ultimately will bring in new customers that will then be purchasing M speakers to maximize their systems. This type of marketing worked well for Obama, playing to the youth now, so they can vote for him later!)

As a dealer, my biggest gripe is that they discontinued the wood finished DSP speakers. I've got a client right now who wants a system, but unless I sell him my 5 rosewood DSP 5200s, there will be no deal. I understand that it is difficult to build the cabinets with consistency, but not having wood finished speakers is detrimental to the saleability of these speakers. While I am personally enamored with the new graphite finish of the painted speakers, many are not.

I had a DSP6000 with periodically (once a week or so) failing midrange driver (never a- traded for a pair of DSP7000s).

left DSP7000 went down last Christmas - took 3 months to repair. The CD slot of my F80 was rickety out of the box, and finally went all loose.

For this banal, mechanical fault I had to wait a long time (same 3 months as for the DSP7000) to get it fixed. The volume control om my G91 suddenly began to live a life of its own - it went up when I want it to go down, and vice versa (fixed by reinstlaing firmware).

I had two SPDIF-inputs (DSP7000 and a 562) dying on me, and lots of other small troubles and headaches.

I was on the brink of giving up M all together, until I heard that sound again...

Point is - improve your quality control, Meridian! As many others in this forum has pointed out - mid- og low-fi brands perform far better in this area.

M. cannot live with this fact. They have customers paying tens of thousands of dollars, expecting things to work! And not - as me - having to sit there without music on the first day of their Christmas leave, when they finally have the time to listen. And then having to wait months before things are fixed.

They are fine service wise. Got new power supply in 861 becuase something was wrong in the series ?
Got a other 558 when the one i bought had problems starting up. (bought it cheap from the distributor swap in Germany when all products were dumped)

So i have no complaints there.

Some more information on what is coming would be nice though. (hint: MMHR input)
