Got to agree, most have been waiting for this for 3 years now. Plus seperate threads helps when looking for certain info rather than trawling through one massive thread with most posts sayings "the hd formats sound better"!! hmmmm "no [censored] Sherlock"
No Darling, I've had it months!

While I agree that one threat would be ideal/nice....seems like Meridians communication style encourages this set of responses....seems to me that they should have been more forth coming as to plans, very clear as to features/functions...and benefits....

[rant]It would also be nice if some people actually read the information in the existing threads before posting inane questions. And if you don't understand the basics of HDMI, MHR/SmartLink and digital audio, get your dealer to configure your system for you; that's what you pay the premium for.[/rant]

Unfortunately most dealers don't have much more information. In addition this is basically a pretty simple box I think....but it would be nice if Meridian said specifically for whom they intended the RJ45 jacks...one might speculate that there will be a change to some M processors to take advantage of those jacks....on ultimate performance level...will the 3X digital cable or the RJ45 be better....should I wait...if the performance is better....why is it there...is that the future of their communications....it would be nice if they laid out the path....but this is just one example of where better communications might reduce the amount of confusion/potential confusion....

I disagree. Just take a look at the the threads on the AV Forums. e.g. http://www.avforums.com/forums/plas...nic-th-42-50pz70-owners-thread-only.htmlThousands of posts and utterly impossible to read through to find a specific point or comment. Come on guys - with so very little else new to talk about of late it's not exactly a problem is it. Only common sense required to make sure posters post into threads that have already started on a specific HD621 topic instead of duplicating.
Rgds, Nick

I think that if the thread is on a unique and interesting topic then why not allow it. Nothing worse than trying to find relevant information in a thousand post thread...
A wiki page would be useful. Compatibility issues, player settings etc could be recorded there for reference.

If we run out of threads here , there's an excellent slugging match over at avs worth wading through http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1079965Currently , they are dealing with the ' semantics ' of the terminology used in the HD621 manual ! ~M~
Mostly harmless. Comfortably numb.

Good lord. A very timely reminder as to why I don't browse AVS.
