Yet another victim of the credit crunch. Shame, Telarc produces some decent stuff...

not the best recording quality, but some interesting musicians. believe, their contracts will be transferred to Concord.

I miss my old Meridian setup.

Here's a Stereophile article on the new production company that the laid-off Telarc team has formed:

http://www.stereophile.com/news/once_telarc_now_five-four/

I went to the Telarc web site a few days back - normally, a pleasurable browsing experience - only to discover that it has been "improved" into near unusability by integrating it with the rest of the Concord sites. After reading the Stereophile article, I understood why ... It's really a shame, Telarc was the most prominent U.S. independent classical label, and my library is full of their recordings.

Very sad news indeed. Telarc have established a reputation for extremely fine sounding classical recordings, often with quite wide dynamic range.

I also understand that the Decca label is due to disbanded as well. Another very sad moment for one of the great pioneering classical record labels.
