From my perspective, with enough space and sufficient shielding it should be possible even for a purist like Bob Stuart to put all things in one chassi.

But I think it's a faster and more convenient way for Meridian to do a separate switch. They can base their architecture on a present state of the art switch, they have plenty of space to do their thing in, and every processor from 568.2MM onwards can take advantage of Lossless HDMI Audio as well as a being a well M integrated HDMI switch.
