Agree with George. If you are running windows to run one or two software programs then go with XP. Parallels just updated to 4.0 and its very good. I hear VM Ware Fusion is also very good.

Avoid Windows altogether - and run M.Config as though it were a Mac application - by downloading your free trial of CrossOverMac Pro...

Check out their promotional videos...

Alternatively, Sun have a free OpenSource solution - called VirtualBox...

I'm no expert on Mac but Parallels can set up windows apps to look like "Mac" apps as well. It can sit on the Mac desk top and you never see "Windows". Switch between apps like it was native etc.

Is there any advantage running Bootcamp instead of Parallels/Fusion?

Sorry, I've never used Parallels/Fusion. My Macs run on a windows domain and we very seldom boot mac os.

Enough said.

By using CrossOverMac Pro, instead of Parallels or Fusion, you do not have to install a copy of Windows.

That means:

No partitioning your hard drive,
Save money by not purchasing a legal copy of Windows OS,
No memory sharing between Windows and Mac OS,
Less disk space taken by installing Windows,
No need to install separate anti-virus software for Windows,
No constant Windows updates required,
Runs Windows applications at native speed.

Therefore, a Windows application will act and behave as though it were a native Mac application - even M.Config.

I just downloaded the Crossover trial also and was able to load the Meridian Common Installer and legacy mconfig, but it won't run. It opens in the dock, and then closes. I was able to load and run Internet Explorer and it seems to work, and coincidentally the only site (so far) that doesn't work is Meridian.

As far as I know CrossOver can not access USB or other devices directly. So I am afraid the Meridian Config program is not going to work (at least not for communicating with M boxes).
