George, could you close this thread. Reading and responding to the posts on the Hitchhiker board is one of the highlights of my day, and I keep getting a bucket of cold water dumped on my head.

I can't help but feel that any prospective Meridian customer who is currently researching a possible purchase will be backing away at top speed after reading this thread. Are we helping or hindering the company fortunes here?
Time to reflect...

I know what you mean but others seem to want to contribute. Guys ease up. Let's see what CES brings. In my opinion the market is at bottom and we can only go up from here.

Its a bit Heavy to gift wrap (at any price) and I reckon health and safty laws apply there. Honesty; it is plastic, real good plastic though. It doesnt fade in my conservatory, It doesnt seem to mark, a quick wipe and it comes up lovely, as new. Go buy one!!!! Cheers, Chris

Instead of spending money on kit we might not need, howabout Meridian offer some new shares to HitchHikers? The money we invest goes direct into the company, bit like 100% profit.
Anyone game enough?

I think Meridian will be fine in the long run. It looks as though they have got a PR agency working on getting the speakers\equipment into the right places as I have seen the latest gear in the following movies. It looks as though they may be repositioning the brand somewhat. It would be real nice to see a a couple of brand stores. Here in Denmark there are 3 B&O brand stores in my local town\city. (approx the size of leicester) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1033643/http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0482599/http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489099/I did my bit and took my friend to see the F80 last weekend and he loved it and will place an order within the next couple of weeks so trying to do my bit. (I should be on commission)

I can't imagine that Meridian are making that little margin - surely the loss includes the significant costs of developing the F80 (and 810?), which should pay back over time.
How reliable are the numbers that are being bandied about, and what do they include?
If it weren't for the fact that every spare (and not so spare) penny were already being spent on Meridian, I'd invest in Meridian. A development team like that is rare.
