What is the effect of the little switch on the CLUX.
Does Bitstream mean lossy to Toslink or does the little box also decode?
What is the difference between LPCM and 5.1/7.1 switch position.

Whoops I misread the switch. It looked like LPCM and 5.1/7.1 where two positions when they are one and the same.
So I assume
Bitstream - sends to the toslink. LPCM 5.1/7.1 - sends to 6 or 8 analog outputs. 2CH - Sends to 2 analog outputs and/or 2 Channel Toslink.

I might have a line on the CLUX to be able to sell pre-modded units for those that were interested in that. Thanks, Shawn im interested . how much and how long cheers neil I might also be interested, I just have to think through how I should use it... I don't have a scaler, so either I need to buy one (seems overkill with a scaler for listening to music) or connect the CLUX to another HDMI input. There's no free HDMI input on my plasma, and a switch adds to the cost. Another possibility would be a small monitor with HDCP/HDMI... I think I need to go to bed now, 'brain's on strike...

I think that is correct but I didn't try that at all, just used the LPCM 5.1/7.1 position.

You wouldn't need another input on your plasma. Your source would feed the CLUX (instead of the plasma) then the output of the CLUX would go to the vacant input on the plasma.

Shawn It would be so, if it wasn't a source to be added for multi-channel music...

That's a good point. I have to turn my Radiance on, but that's ok because it's low power and silent. Would a DVI detective work? http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=4714

@VK, If I understand correctly the CLUX works perfectly fine with your G68, so with FIFO buffers on? In other words, the jitter is not that bad that the FIFO needs to be disabled? If this is the case, it means that all the talk about jitter and HDMI are exaggerated at the least ...

According to what Jaco said the CLUX doesn't work with a DVI device plugged into its output.

I'm interested. I could then get rid of my 598DS (never did manage to get the thing to work with the SDI card, despite two tries, couldn't tell whether it was the vp50 or the 598) and use the Clux with my XE1 as my only spinner (well, until I get a BD as well) into the MM.
Let me know whether you go forwards with this,

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.
