HH - Huntingdon? Hitchhiker base here. The CLUX-11SA has landed!
HQ - (nervously) Copy that Hiker base. How is she looking?
HH - She's beautiful Huntingdon! We have FIFO lock!
HQ - You're breaking up Hiker Base. Please repeat!
HH - We confirm FIFO lock Huntingdon; the input buffers are stable.

HQ - Damn those pesky resourceful cheapskate Hikers... We could lose a ton of sales to this modified CLUX!

HQ - What does it look like Hiker base? Does it have a nice case?
HH - It looks like an external floppy drive Huntingdon.
HQ - Thank God for that. We're ok!

pause

HQ - Hey, do you think we could sell them a G-series case for it?

grin

Flippancy aside, this thing appears to be working perfectly with my Oppo 980 and PS3! FIFO seems to be FIFOing well.

I'm currently listening to the Carlos Kleiber/Wiener Philharmoniker DVDA of Beethoven's 5th and it is rather gorgeous.

The big downer at the moment is that my Toshiba XA1 HD DVD player isn't playing ball. I think there may be an EDID problem between it and my Radiance because it keeps sending out two channel (I think) 96kHz from the Harry Potter 5 TrueHD soundtrack. Weird - I need to investigate more.

But basically for a bit over 200, I've got myself a digitally outputting DVDA player and multi-channel digital from my PS3. I'm sure the XA1 problem can be solved.
