Would someone be kind enough to post their firmware version for the 562V and indicate whether it is fitted with a 517. I am trying to determine both what the current firmware version is and whether there is a different firmware version for 562Vs fitted with the 517.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but the last round of firmware updates includes a fix for the G68 optical "issues". v1.44.

I once had a 562V fitted with 562V2 firmware (v2.xx). The 562V didn't care a stuff even though the firmware thought thet my 562V had a 517 and additional s-video connectors. I don't believe that the firmware in the 562(vx) does much in the way of checking of what is actually inside, hence the ability to mix and match firmware between hardware versions and the firmware giving the 517 settings irrespective of whether the unit was sans 517, of a 568v2 with an integrated subset of the 517 functionality.

I believe the only way to tell if a 517 card is fitted is to either open the box or try the functionality - IIRC, in particular the volume control part of the 517DAC as I think this was the part of the 517 functionality that was omitted from the integrated functionality of the 562V2 (and most likely the 562V3). There is certainly no clue in the firmware version although a 562V2 is unlikely to be fitted with V1 firmware.

You bet that 1.44 for the G68 didn’t go unnoticed!! grin grin
Best news so far this year, if it works that is. It addresses the exact issues with optical inputs I’ve been complaining about, so I guess they got enough angry e-mail. I got it running stable for three days now, so I’m optimistic. I never experienced the previous version surviving that many days in a row without a hard reboot.
My reoccurring dream of me chucking the G68 of the balcony is gone for now shocked

When I look at the G68/G98 setup menu vai the hand controller in the info it says that firmware is 2.11 (system about 2 years old) Looking at M website I see the G68 latest is 1.44 and the G98 is 2.47.

Is the 2.11 quoted on the screen the G98? Don't want to update unless I really have to buit have been looking for release notes on M site as to what each version changes, can some one point m,e in the right direction for the release notes please.

thanks

David

David,
scroll down from here to "Meridian software" then look down list to G98 version 2.47 and click on "more" . This I believe will show you the update notes.

Cairo

thanks, I tried this originally but it didn't work, hence the question. Tried again and it works fine, obviously operator error the first time.

Nothing really new in the firmware so will leave alone

thanks

David

Can DSP5000's version 2.31 be upgraded with firmware? - The existing firmware looks to be for 24/96 speakers - thanks,Scott T.

Just thought I'd point out that although the latest firmware for the G51 is listed as version 1.2, that only applies to the DAB version. The latest for the non DAB G51 is version 1.04.

Anyone know what the latest version of the 800D v4 firmware is (for both computer and DVD cards)?

And does anyone out there have a copy?

I don't know why, but M directs one to a dealer for it; why not have it on the download site!

I've unstickied this and dumped the table into the Wiki. It's out of date, but I'll sort it out shortly.
