What sort of upgrade is/will be required for the 598 for progressive PAL?

Is there any movement regading development of room correction or other equalization, especially now given the increased processing power of both the 568.2 and the 861 v3?

Hi there

Probably a forlorn hope here (ever the optimist!), but will there ever be a 500 series digital theatre unit which can deliver both a headphone output and a phono input?
The 562 offers phono options, but no headphones, and the 561 offers headphones but no phono option!

I have a 561, but even upgrading to a 562 means I'll have to buy someone else's add on box for one or the other feature.

Robert, line double is the same as deinterlace and they have a card that does that with the FLI 2200 on it. They do not offer frame doubling, but if you move to a digital display, then you don't need it. Digital displays do not flicker.

BTW, 1.5 hours before I grab the questions and put the petal to the metal.

to add one question- a friend has the V3 setup and says that while the upsampling of DD and DTS is great for imaging and other sonics, the bass disappears! he says Meridian must know this is a problem as they have the lfe at a +10 default. I am wondering if
1- this is really a problem
2- if so is Meridian aware of it
3- if so when can we expect a fix.

Jerry, LFE is set to +10 for Cinema and 0 for Discrete. I suspect this was a subjective setting to give you more bass in movies, which people like. I will ask though.

- Lack of bass when DD/DTS are upsampled. (Cinema preset is set to +10)
