Sanjay, I've not heard the F80 so cannot make a direct comparison. I do have a number of portable stereos and the Boom competes very well against them except in terms of absolute volume, which is much lower on the Boom. It's certainly a very nice portable stereo system but I would never use it for critical listening but rather as a device that was on in the room while I was doing something else...
