Hey Nick,

I may have a suggestion which could easily/cheaply offer further sonic improvement. Based on the photographic evidence you've provided, I'm guesstimating that the absorbent room treatments you have scattered across your back wall are only a couple inches thick. They are made of fiberglass, mineral wool, or recycled cotton I assume? If you double or even triple the absorbent material thickness to about 6" just on the 2'x 4' area immediately behind the listening area, your absorber will effectively reach much further down, right into the midrange. With your ears that close to the reflective surface behind, The broader band the absorption, the better. We want to damp those early reflections out of existence completely over as wide a frequency range possible (not just the high frequencies). Doing so will pay further dividends in the spaciousness of the soundstage and clarity of the stereo image.

Happy Trails!
