The mother ship was concerned about some of information being spread in
this thread and wanted to clarify a few things.

========================================================================

It`s very rare that I feel the need to jump into a discussion on the Hitchhiker`s forum, but I`ve seen some comment on the site regarding the Alfred Dunhill AD88 product and would simply like to clarify the fact that the Richemont-owned Alfred Dunhill brand is not connected with Dunhill tobacco products, which are made by British American Tobacco. They are two separate entities and have been for over a decade.

We are making the AD88 product on behalf of Alfred Dunhill, a brand that specializes in men's luxury leather goods, writing implements, timepieces, fragrances and clothing. The product was designed by Allen Boothroyd, with significant input from the team at Alfred Dunhill, and does not use the composite material featured in the F80. The AD88 actually uses very traditional wood and lacquers instead.

Finally, I`d just like to be clear about the fact that Meridian is not owned by the Richemont group. Richemont`s Executive Chairman is one member of the Muse Group who took a minority shareholding in Meridian in 2007.

Best wishes,

Stuart.
