Sorry, I should have realised you were talking about the audio. There are so many variables and it not clear to me which is best: feeding a bitstream to the processor and letting it do the decoding or carrying out the decoding in the player. I think there was a recent thread thrashing out the arguments for and against. I'm also unconvinced that upsampling by the processor makes a significant difference to the audio quality - but I've never done any serious comparisons with DD or DTS tracks.
