This Maybe a software upgrade request, perhaps we should begin a list?

No 1, Alarm function Radio time out options. Perhaps 15, 30, 45, 60, none.
Also a sleep function similar to above.

What about a clock facility on the display with radio/CD on.

This sort of thing could easily see more sales for bedside use.

Cheers, Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

I've solved all alarm issues by using a Sonos network. Clock set from web server (automatically adjust for summer/winter time). Sleep in several increments (15, 30, 60, 45, 1hr, 2 hr), selective alarms (once, weekdays, weekends, every day). Even individual volume presets for the alarms! With the F80 having toslink in and Sonos player toslink out, there is no loss in sound quality either (except maybe a tiny bit at low Sonos volumes).

BTW I once had the DSP5000s. You can't really compare F80 to them. F80 is not realy hifi, it's Tivoli on steroids. grin

I think you're probably right. For me though, the F80 succeeds simply because it is smaller, can be placed anywhere, sounds incredible, is integrated, and is user friendly. Massive WAF.

I was listening to the F80 loud last night. It is utterly unbelievable how much bass this thing puts out and how tight and tuneful the bass is...

Anybody listened to the SB3 into the F80? I was wondering how good it would sound via the optical input.

You and your subs Chris! There is a combo headphones / optical out jack, but I don't know if there is any delay on these outputs vs. the main speakers. As there is no comms, only the analogue output would be of any use anyway.

I do think integration would be difficult as I imagine (like the DSP33s) the bass extension will be reduced with increasing volume to prevent the cones whacking themselves against the chassis. Oddly there is no crossover control either wink .

I'm going to add a record deck and Squeezebox via a 562V.2. For ease of integration it would be handy if the F80 had a comms socket, but it does respond to the MSR+. At least one of the MSR+ source buttons selects optical and if it's more than one then I'm laughing. This is possible; both CD and DVD select F80 "Disc" for instance.

Not a Squeezebox, but I have an Apple Airport Express.

Sounds sodding brilliant IMO.

I'm actually staggered at how good it seems to make last.fm and even fairly low bitrate material sound.

With stuff ripped to Apple Lossless from CD (a Naim sampler CD is probably the best quality CD I have from a "how was it mastered" perspective) I can't tell any difference between the CD and the streamed version.

I must book an audition. I'd like a compact, second music system for the bedroom.

1700(F80 +sb3) may take a bit of justification though. Then again...
