No worries -- I expect gratuitous verbal abuse from Bob and crew when I go ask the questions wink

Not really; they're quite a class act and I like Bob's sense of humour.

Well I just go back from CEDIA about 2 hours ago when I am typing this response. I do need a little bit of time and remind my family what I look like.

I am hoping we have something in the very near future -- but it is dependent on my schedule.

Best,

Hang on a minute jaco! JK always sends his answers out of courtesy to M for comment before publishing them - after all, Bob is under no obligation whatsoever provide this Q&A "service" to us. This "delay" is not unusual and, as we now know, M is busy on new speakers, iPod stuff, revamping the G-series, re-architecting the 861, and developing HDMI. They are busy folk (but they just don't like to talk about it).

It should be rembered that all JK's efforts on our behalf are voluntary and quite rightly have to fit around family/work . I wouldn't get my expectations flying too high either . The onus is on M to keep us informed ( wink ) but I think either a) they would have made any major announcements at Cedia or b) John has to synchronise the Q+A with an upcoming official announcement ( V.Unlikely )

Roll on CES in January 2008 !

The new job has been taking a toll on my spare time. The responses are off to the mothership for checking.

Mostly it's to make sure that I got all the answers right laugh

John K., thanks allot for doing this. smile

Let`s hope Meridian is faster with the quality check of your Q&A`s, than they are answering emails. sick

VirusKiller: In reply too your comment: "Bob is under no obligation whatsoever provide this Q&A "service" to us"...

It`s not a "obligation" to answeer customers questions of course, but there is something called "service". When you invested 20 000$ (!) in a audio product, it would be nice too know if the company are working on upgrades so the product can be used with TODAY`s standards. There is nothing on their website, they don`t answeer emails and their suppliers know nothing (they don`t even get any answers). Your best hope is too either sell or keep wishing for a upgrade (while you take advantage of yesterday`s sound/picture formats). In a world of new standards every year, information and upgrades/development is critical too keep customers.

I am very found of Meridian products, but they should be better at giving information too their customers. Just a small notice from time too time on their website would be a huge step forward.

A bit of topic, but I feel it needed too be said. smile

I agree with the both of you. I think M has to be careful with what they say- remember they are a smaller company. The comment about todays standards. If you are referring to HDMI- lets face it- its a bit of a mess. There is 1.1 which is a standard but I can tell you every installer or dealer I speak with thinks HDMI is a four letter word. Its not very stable for them. Therefore if you are M and building mega buck products you want it to be right. You also don't want it to be obsolete in the eyes of your customers when 1.3 is better deployed (is 1.3 finalized yet?). Then who knows what will come after it. At some point M has got to say: this is where we support it- but I think so far they have been right to wait. That said, the understanding of their customers will get tested with the passage of time.

best regards,
Jerry
