For goodness sake, don't keep it a secret like the F80 itself.

Well my small gift also arrived this morning. It does have the Meridian logo and you can also use it with a Ferrari. Well worth waiting for Mike

I am a marketer, and a long-term member of the (UK) Chartered Institute of Marketing; so it is with some knowledge and experience of marketing that I proffer the following opinion......
Re: Meridian end of term Marketing report. Could do better - much better!
How long has it been since we were offered some mysterious gift for registering our products?
I've had my Meridian kit for some 13 years, so the accompanying letter congratulating me on registering my 'recent Meridian purchase' was irritating - alongside the miniscule key fob residing at the bottom of the oversized envelope that almost got thrown away.
No-one could possibly expect a free F80 (like Frank), but something more in keeping with the spirit of this forum would have been more graciously received - something along the lines of the home-cinema book we were all given at the Hitchhikers day last February - or even a tee-shirt or CD, perhaps.

You mean to say that it wasn't a manual? I just bought a pair of 5200's that came with no manuals. Great for the DSP beginner, maybe I should register them. Who knows what i'll get....

Keono, If you had got a manual with your DSP5200's it would serve no purpose, that's why this forum exists The manual is pretty much useless; your dealer should install and set them up for you Look on the bright side you'll get a free gift if you register your equipment with Meridian. Mike

Mike, I know, I had to download the DSP manual from the site. Outdated, I think for the 5500's, 6000's and not nearly the detail that my dealer went through with me over the phone.
Unfortunately, I had to save a few dollars to afford them and my dealer is in the U.S. and me in Canada. Everything is up and working except for the 5200's. Anyways, after I try to hook them straight to my DVD player, I will start a thread on them as their not working with my adv.
I will register them though as i'd could use a gift of anything right about now. I'll start a new thread as not to hijack yours.
Cheers,
James

I didn't expect an F80 as a gift, I just didn't want you guys to keep the nature of the gift a secret for weeks on end! I need a key fob, so I can't wait for my official Meridian one to arrive.

do you think it will become a collector's item? maybe i can sell mine on eBay?
perhaps it is actually a sound deadening keyfob and simply by having it in the room all unwanted sound waves are simply removed!! no need for room calibration anymore!!
it is in fact a brand new piece of tech, wow!!!!...not.
i would have preferred a ferrari one ;-D
