It is easily possible to expand to parts of china that is not in the industrial zone, since only 10-20% has been turned to sweatshops. And no, those shop's wages are nowhere even close to being high enough for multinationals to consider moving, since it is not Shanghai citizens that are doing most of the work, but the migrant workers. Plus, multinationals like iron fisted government that has control of the whole country instead of the weak, democratic or non-existent leaders.

Let us not lose sight of the fact that the cabinets for the DSP5200's, DSP7000's and DSP8000's are manufactured in the far-east (confirmed during Hitchhikers' visit) - so, not exactly 'made in Britain'.

I had intentions of upgrading my CDP to one of Meridians CDP's most likely the G07 , Untill a few chaps from the Ausie forum that I frequent pointed me towards a Chinese made CDP

( Consonance Droplet 5.0 arround 1300 pounds)was I think cheeper than the G07 and some reviewers rated it better than the G08 and the build quility is fantastic weighs in arround 45 pounds.

Any way the point is the chinese are producing some very fine Audio gear nowadays at half the price in Europe, makes it hard to ignore in the bang for bucks equipment.
