A week ago I sat down in front of 2 DSP7000 and an 808i CD player. I was astounded of how much information that player digs up. I don't think my present media server comes close.
To VK's point, if you aren't doing some kind of direct comparison, you will never know. I've seen situations were perception of low level detail was enhanced simply because the "super resolution system" was in a room that was absolutely dead silent. Whereas, most of us live in environments where there is noise nearby (refrigerator, fan, traffic, tv in another room, etc.) our systems might be doing the same job and we'd never know it. When Absolute Sound reviewed that transport, don't you think it would be valuable (as a mandatory, objective function of the review) to double blind test it against other transports and media players?

PS: A tip to all who use media players - the HP Media Vault is a wonderful, low-cost solution.
