Currently all of the ipods have NO digital optical output. The only gear which features optical digital outputs are the airport express base station, Apple TV and various CPU's.

Best regards,

Richard Krol

I just inferred that Ferrari made the choice, in jest.

Here is their latest licensed product, a Ferrari PDA. I wonder if it is using a composite enclosure?

SWMBO was speaking to our local Meridian dealer and they have sold 3 F80's already, they are delighted with how well the product is moving.
For such an expensive "boom box" I some how think that it is not just being sold to Meridian geeks or those who must have the latest expensive toys. As the dealer said - it makes a superb transportable 2nd system.

I have not auditioned one yet as if its as good as I think I will want one and funds are not there just at the moment for what will be self indulgence. I don't suppose it will be too long however before I convince myself that it is in fact an absolute necessity and therefore suddenly have the appropriate funds if I promise to cut down on other self indulgences like a nice glass of wine as I sit back and listen to a CD or 2.
wink

F80 has a nice write-up n the Financial Times magazine this weekend, in the essential gadgets column. The columnist loved it.

Hi MI
I was not aware there were any other Meridian hitch hikers in the locality. Don't worry; I'm a firm believer that a glass of wine is a pre-requisite if you are really to embrace the sonic highs that a Meridian hi-fi can deliver - hic! wink

I wonder how legal that is and what Apple have to say?
It could be a step forward towards the good if it was widely available and marketed as 'Cool'.

Cheers. Chris smile

Hi Gavin. FYI, I'm in Woburn Sands which is not at all far from your neck of the woods...
