I rather like it and I'm very tempted - as long as it's the sinister black version to lurk in the corner of the bedroom! I've been looking for an alarm clock for a while now...
I'm not convinced a music server function is necessary here. If it's aimed at second (or third?!)/holiday homes, how many are going to have been updated with the owner's music? Who wants the hassle of updating when you're on a short break for example? Much simpler to bring along your Pod-of-i, hook it up to the (optional) dock and away you go.
Does anyone know when they're realistically available? Cheers,
Ed.
G91, G68, 5x DSP33, SW1600, HD621. Red F80 and dock.

Are the units completely M's own design? Mark S

Good you wrote "digital" with the citation marks. No need to slap you with a fish.

Hmmm ... now I have seen the pictures I can safely say this has nothing to do with "Hi-Fi".
This is a box aimed at the increasing numbers of "high net worth" individuals who have plenty of disposable cash and want a sexy looking toy in their living room. Just the sort of person who drives a new ferrari.
However, Ferrari sell only 5,000 cars per year. How many of those people will by an F80?
And ... no ... not many people who buy a Ferrari baseball cap for 20 will buy a Ferrari DVD player for 1,500.
I hope that Ferrari are opening up all of their sales and merchandising channels to Meridian to get the F80 selling and that Meridian are using a cheap manufacturer (instead of distracting Huntingdon).
GO Meridian GO .... sell the F80 like crazy makes loads of money and then make a proper AV all in one solution for me.

Hmmmm,
You guys are right Joe Chardonnay wouldn't take the time to load music in to Music Server version. But I can't see Mr. Chardonnay with an iPod over his ears either. So is he stuck with a stack of clunky CD's?
Actually now that I think about it Mr. Chardonnay is probably on XM Radio in the US.

We saw the cleared area for F80 assembly on our day out at the factory.

Yes, it has an alarm clock. Yes, you can plug in an Airport Express to stream iTunes and you can plug in the new Meridian iPod dock.
Again, I hope these things sell like hotcakes. Meridian needs a cash cow to pay for all those t-shirts and goody bags you guys got.

I don't know when it will be available outside the UK. I seem to remember that I heard that it will be available in the UK first, then Europe then USA. Hopefully it won't be too much of a delay.

Now I would be happy to buy Meridian merchandise. Is there a means of doing so?
