I ran for years on DSP5000s with no sub; Musically they were excellent - rated to 35Hz; I now use them in rear with dsp5200s in front - they are also rated at 35Hz but do handle bass much better than the 5000s; I now use a sub with them but It's rare for music to use the sub; It's mostly for movies LFE;

I find myself constently surprised at how little the sub kicks in for music pre-sets, even when it sounds like it should - there just isn't a lot of music down there those frequencies... Maybe I'll get some Pipe organ stuff that forces it! smile
