For interested Macintosh owners, CrossOver Mac 6.0 is now commercially available for $60 (education pricing is also available at $42).

A video demonstration is available on their website, together with comparative information on Bootcamp and Parallels.

SpinalTap - You're Mac expertise is a credit - should we have a Mac sticky thread on this site for us AppleHeads?

CrossOver sounds great.

Is this roadtested with Mconfig and USB to serial?

I presume I can MSOffice on my Mac Mini or will it be very slow?

Mac thread sticky sounds good to me;
Thanks for the headsup spinal - Crossover is my favorite for ease fo use and Parallels for compatilbility depth; although i still can't get Keyspan USB/serial to work with it;

Spinaltap - have you tried the Keyspan with the new Crossover?

How about you guys create a AppleHead Wiki page :-)

I'm trying to get rid of sticky's.

Which is why I released a few stickies and may release a couple more once the Wiki is moving along better.

George

Is there such a thing as a "Sticky Wiki"? Sounds like cricket to me ....

Would love to contribute to AppleHead Wiki ... have no idea how to and so will need to do some serious training.

Regards

Andrew

Just tried out CrossOver with Config on my Intel Mac' and it's pretty flaky.

Will do some further fiddling and report if I get it to work acceptably.

AFAIK MConfig runs fine under Parallels.

Best regards,

OK. Config opens and one can add sources, amplifiers and speakers - you can even save - but as soon as the properties of any items are double-clicked and the resulting window closed, the software crashes.

I get the same reuslts on an Intel iMac and Mac Mini - each is the fastest of the their type and running big Ram - looks like an incompatibility issue with Config and CrossOver.

Pity.

Jerry-
Are you successfully using Keyspan USB/Serial under Parallels? or another device?
