Actually, I'm getting nothing at the moment , my rears are over for a check-up . Last I recall playing one the display counter counts in BEFORE the track actually begins !
Bloody thing won't play the CD side of the Grammy Award Winning (Surround Mix) of Brothers in Arms ' though !!!

Meridian does not support the CD layer of DualDisc. It does not comply with the Redbook standaard.

Why do you want to play the CD layer when you have a MLP layer at you disposal anyway ?!?

So it still looks like Meridian will not be releasing a final firmware update for the 568.2. I wonder if it has anything to do with THX approval cost?? Just seams weird that they released the Beta way back when and nothing since.

I'm not complaining since 2.5 beta has been very stable. Perfect actually for my setup. Although I did see a post about the digital audio frame delay not working. I've never tried the frame delay in the setup. I wonder if they are working on that??

My 598 plays the CD layer of a dual disk - does take a little longer to 'lock' to it though. That's on the 1.02 s/w BTW.

I know my 598 won't play the CD side of the Back in Black dualdisc. But who cares, I just put it in upside down by mistake.

Mind you, I just checked and found nothing will play at all apart from DVDs - No CD, TV or cable!! Just have to unplug everything again. Oh the joy.

This isn't strictly true, as my 500 plays the CD layer without any problems. The 598 on the other hand doesn't.

I was experiencing some problems with the 598 not reproducing the audio tracks of some DVD Videos (on some fast forwarding would provide a cure, on others this just produced a horrible buzz). Uploading V1.89 seems to have resolved this. smile
